Time to look at the movement in Africa. I have a feeling that there are going to be a lot of different push and pull factors that motivate or force people to move to a different place. I am really excited to learn about Africa. What do you know about the movement in Africa? Can you list some push or pull factors. Share anything you know about or think you know about. Africa is the second largest continent in the world. It has the longest river called river Nile. The equator pasts through Africa. It has the second largest dessert in the world called Sahara dessert then it has the most minerals such as gold, diamonds. They have the shortest people called pigmies. It is rich in wildlife and lots of birds. We have the biggest tropical rainforest after the Amazon. Africa is divided between Sahara dessert and the the Savannah grassland. We have many traditions and cultures in Africa.Africa is known for the wildbeast migration. People in Africa grow crops and raise cettle. Kenya has a tropical climate. We have the big five animals that the elephant, lion, giraffe, zebra, leopard and cheetah.

Kenya is the biggest home to refugees from Somalia and Sudan because of the war in their countries. We have a big refugee camp in the north of Kenya called dadab refugee camp where the refugees stay.People have run away from Congo because of the war there and are refugees too in Uganda.

Africa has different countries, counties, towns and cities. Kenya is on the equator, so in some places it is hot. There are hot and cold places in Kenya. For example Mombasa is very hot, and Nairobi is very cold. These are examples of push factors. If you’ve come from a cold country, like Russia, then you will struggle in Mombasa, because is is fire hot. Also, in Kenya there is corruption. The pull factors: Kenya attracts tourists and people with hotels, the ocean and wildlife. There are many tribes, so if you are multicultural, then you’ll love Kenya.

Africa is the second largest continent, following Europe. There are 57 countries, with Nigeria as the largest. There are many game parks like Tsavo, Shimba Hills, the Serengeti and Masaii Mara. There are oceans, deserts and rain forests. That is connected to nature, because it is about ecosystems and plants and animals. Unfortunately, these majestic animals are taken for granted. For example big cats, like the lion, are killed for their skin and mane. The problem with Kenya, is that there is a lot of poverty. People are born into poor families, because of that, people don’t have medicine to cure diseases, that kills many. Over 50% of Kenya is filled with poor people. That is related to well being and economy and society. It is related to well being, because they don’t have a healthy life, with care. Economy, because there is not enough money. Society, because the people around us aren’t well. Kenya is one of the richest countries in Africa, but there is corruptioon and a lot of bribes.

Africans were the first to migrate hundreds operas ago. They are the leaders and starters of migrations. Africa is very big; it is the second largest continent in the world. So as you might know, they traveled very far. Africans were pushed because of lack of supplies, like food and water. Nowadays, people in Africa are pulled in many ways like the ones stated in the above blog post, called ‘I see what you mean’. Africa is very fascinating, unique, and different in many ways.

    • In the present times Africans move due to lack of jobs in their home countries, inter marriage in community but from different places, business opportunities, places like Rwanda and Burundi lack good education so they send their children to South Africa or Kenya, others just want to learn while others want to teach different cultures and society like Mr Wilkins is from South Africa and Mr Low is from Zimbabwe. People in Somalia are moving out as refugees into Kenya due to civil wars. Egypt is also another example of civil war 2013. Other people cant afford living in cities like Nairobi so they move to smaller towns like Nakuru. People who can afford health insurance travel to South Africa to get treatment for cancer and other illness.

  7. I know that there is a big 5 which includes Lion, Buffalo, Rhino, Elephant and Leopard. I also know that in Africa people mostly want to move because there is war, thievs, crop failure and high crime and not a lot of security, and the pull factors are there is a lot of fresh water in the Nile, about the African culture and about the fascinating wildlife around us or in tsavo or Masai Mara.

The killings of people in Rwanda was caused by a civil war and people had to run in other countries as refugees. We had a similar situation a few years back after the elections where houses were burnt and people were shot.We still have people living in camps till today. In the same way animals have problems as well because elephants are killed for the tusks and countries like China and Thailand buy them.Gorillas of RWanda are killed and sold to tourists.Somalia sells shark fish for export.

  9. In Africa,
Push factors of migration, are mostly from the rural areas to the city for better education, better jobs . In the village they may not have electricity so people might move.
Also they might move from one country to another. For example from Tanzania to Kenya because of more opportunities as Kenya is better developed.
The pull factors in Africa could be if a person wants to develop a farm and sees better land in another part he might move. Or if a person is in the city he might go back to his village and take a job educating the children or using his skills to make his village better

  10. I don’t know about the movement in africa.I want to check it from now on about movement in Africa.
